Breathwork - Why Bigger Isn’t Always Better

When I started facilitating breathwork four years ago, I had dreams of becoming a skilled space holder supporting rooms full of breathers.

My training required me to complete 30 private sessions before moving to groups — the first "group" being just 2 to 4 people.

I remember feeling impatient. I wanted more. I thought bigger was better.

Four years later, having facilitated hundreds of sessions — from the tender vulnerability of a solo journey, to a couple celebrating their anniversary, to 12 women at a private retreat, to a room of 25 high-achieving men — my heart keeps coming back to the intimacy of a small, intimate circle.

It's not flashy. It won't sell out in minutes. And that is entirely the point.

Why Six?

Every person receives my full attention. With only six people, I can track each individual's experience as it unfolds — physically, emotionally, energetically. I can offer hands-on support when I feel called to do so. No one gets lost in the room.

You will be seen — and you will see others. What moves in you often moves in the room. In a small group, witnessing someone else in their process has a way of illuminating something in yourself. There's a particular kind of medicine that only becomes possible when you're close enough to really see each other.

Every voice has space. If you feel called to share before or after your journey, there is time. Not a rushed circle where half the room leaves unheard — but an unhurried, spacious share where you can process as you share or sit in silence.

It matches the energy of the space. The set and setting matter. The energy of the physical space needs to feel aligned with the intentions of the journey and the group. For me, this means warm and cozy. My home studio reflects this, as does The Cosmic Living Room at Moon Landing in Oakland. These spaces aren’t grand studios, but intimate and warm living rooms. They are the perfect places to find home within yourself.

Six is a number I chose on purpose. More than that and something shifts.  Six is intimate yet not too much. It means I can bring my whole self as a facilitator — and you can bring your whole self as a participant.

Heart Centered Breathwork is an invitation to quiet the mind and trust what the heart already knows — masks soften, emotions find release, clarity arrives, and the struggles we've been carrying begin to reveal their wisdom.

I'm thrilled to have found Moon Landing Meditative Arts in Oakland as a second home for my breathwork circles. I am offering these circles monthly and everyone is welcome.

Spots are limited to six — intentionally, always.

If you're ready to connect with your heart's intelligence, there is a place for you in the circle.
